Our client has a job opening for a temporary opportunity as Assistant Scientist Microbiology within a Research Center.
Functieomschrijving
In your role as Assistant Scientist Microbiology, your key responsibilities are:
- Independently design, plan, and conduct experiments in probiotics, microbial fermentation, and related microbiology areas
- Execute in-vitro fermentations and contribute to sample preparation for advanced molecular techniques
- Compile, interpret, and accurately record experimental data in line with good laboratory practice
- Present results and scientific insights at team and department meetings
- Contribute to day-to-day laboratory operations while maintaining high standards for quality and safety
Profiel
- Bachelor or equivalent degree in Food Microbiology, Microbial Fermentation or related field, or 3-5 years of laboratory work experience in an industrial setting
- Experience in working with anaerobic bacteria and microbial fermentation.
- Knowledge of bacterial genetics, bacterial physiology and probiotics is a plus
- Skills and experience in writing reports
- Excellent attention to detail, ability to work with a high level of accuracy and precision
- Ability to work well independently as well as in a team environment
- Well organized, methodical and flexible to changing priorities
- Strong communication skills
- Enthusiastic, pro-active, open-minded, curious and hands-on approach
