Function Description

Objective of the role:
To develop and drive the Restaurant Quality and Food Safety strategic agenda for KFC Northern Europe for all Franchise restaurants. The role will work closely with the Operations teams to improve Restaurant Quality and drive Food Safety awareness to minimize risk of brand damage at restaurant level. This role will also effectively manage individual issues (serious complaints/pest issues), ensuring trends are appropriately addressed and effectively management of formal enquiries from NVWA. The QA manager will also be involved in local distribution & warehousing audit tracking and corrective action follow-up and be the lead with any product recalls in the market.

  • Drive restaurant QA agenda and manage QA projects
  • Define long term strategy and agenda on QA and Food Safety to assure legal compliance and compliance to global YUM! requirements
  • Develop procedures and processes according to the latest legal requirements and take latest scientific and technical developments into account with focus on simplified operations:
  • -HACCP and all food safety relevant restaurant processes incl. cleaning and training
    -Manage pest control processes incl. pest vendor management
    -Manage 3rd party FSCC and support ROCC
    -Crisis management restaurant level and support customer complaints, incl. product recalls
    -Local warehouse & distribution partner audit tracking and corrective action follow-up

  • You will be working mostly from the office


  • Operations, Restaurant Teams and Franchise partners
  • External partners (3rd party audit, pest management vendor, cleaning chemical suppliers, warehouse & distribution supplier)
  • European and Global YUM! QA Team
  • Authority NVWA
  • Complaint Officer to align on solving for customer complaints


  • Bachelor degree in Food Technology or relevant studies
  • Minimum of 3 years food safety experience preferably in restaurant business or food sector
  • Strong knowledge on HACCP and QM systems
  • Understanding of microbiological standards and methodology
  • Experience working with food authorities
  • Food legislation knowledge
  • Strong communication skills
  • Analytical and strategic business thinking skills
  • Fluent in Dutch and English
  • Auditor training is pre
  • HACCP training is pre
