Our client, a company in Specialized Nutrition is looking for a Sensory Design Manager.
Functieomschrijving
As Sensory Design Manager you are responsible for studies from start to finish; you will not only design the study based on business needs but also conduct the study in collaboration with an external partner and give recommendations on how to improve the product performance and be superior in the market. As we take into account the entire user experience, sensory studies do not only focus on the product itself but also on the preparation and packaging. As you are working in UX for Specialized Nutrition you will be working with products that give specialized nutritional solutions for a range of vulnerable groups, such as pregnant women, infants, children, and patients suffering from certain chronic diseases.
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Designing the set-up of sensory studies focussing on the entire user experience for as well trained panels and/or consumers. Select or if necessary, develop the most appropriate method and test design
- To be up to date on (new) product developments of the Specialized Nutrition market & provide the UX team with insight on the latest sensory landscapes to fuel the business
- Working in collaboration with the external partner to design the sensory study & panel sessions and monitor the panellists performance, discussing ways to improve the panel performance when necessary
- Determining the best method for analysing the sensory data, using the appropriate software and give interpretation to the results
- Using your storytelling skills to build impactful reports & communicate on results to different audiences
- Use study results and your knowledge of sensory perception to give guidance to improve product performance & superiority. Link these insights to advise on the product design to bring the intended sensory signature
- Introducing new sensory developments to the team through literature, attending & participating in conferences (including presenting)
Profiel
- Food scientist or social scientist (Food engineer degree or master’s degree in sensory and/or consumer science, or Social Sciences)
- You work and communicate in English
- Team spirit
- Good communication skills
- Ability to connect easily with various teams and stakeholders
- Proactive, motivating, hands-on mentality, team player, independent worker, strong organization skills, flexible, thinking in solutions and act accordingly
