Agrifirm is looking for a Agronomist/Plant Physiologist with experience in plant physiology, plant genetics and plant nutrition. Within RAG/Arable you will become the Agronomy expert dealing with future crop growing systems in which crop growth takes place within strict boundary conditions maintaining crop production and crop quality. This requires in depth knowledge of genetic potential of plants, plant physiological processes and nutritional/fertilization aspects.
You will be working in a multi-disciplinary team in a network organization with limited hierarchy and room for development.

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • Responsible for defining and setup of (joint) research and implementation projects, according to RAG/arable strategy
  • Acts as project leader through management of the project or intern and external delegation of projects
  • Active networking and connecting RAG/Arable with external institutions for knowledge gathering and development of future oriented added value concepts


  • In possession of a PhD (or MSc with >4 years relevant experience in agriculture)
  • You do not mind travelling
  • You speak English fluently
  • Minimum 4 years’ experience in the field of agronomy and if possible, in a commercial environment
  • You have knowledge of Plant Physiology, genetics and plant nutrition experience with data mining and modelling
  • You have an internal network in agronomy consisting of universities, research stations and private companies


  • You have strong communication skills and like to network
  • You are a team player, are enthusiastic and know how to take ownership
  • Project management is something you are good at
  • You are market oriented and know how to make and create impact


Full-time (40-hours). Contract with Agrifirm.
