For one of our clients we are looking for a Scientist (preferably Phd) in the area of Nutrition & Health.
The focus for this position is on gut health and immunity.
Function Description
- The (senior) scientist collaborates with customers to interpret customer questions on a scientific-technical level
- The scientist identifies the customer needs and translates this into a high-quality, result-oriented project approach
- Your task will also be to initiate large multidisciplinary projects for precompetitive and/or contract research
- You will be working close together with the Business Developers to find and bring in new assignments.Therefore you need to have knowledge of customer market and follow trends and developments
- Once the project is approved it will be your responsibility to supervise, interpret and report study results
- Next to that you will also be in the lead in developing new research approaches, to fulfill specific customer needs
- Within the project you will work together in multidisciplinary teams led by project managers, with technical and scientific experts and business development managers, both within the company and on the customer side
Profile
- Nutritional Sciences, preferably PhD
- Track record in nutrition and general health, digestion, gut health, immunity and microbiome modulated health as evidenced by referenced publications
- Commercial approach combined with scientific background
- Being able to interpret customer’s needs and translate these into projects
- Proven experience in design and conduct of food clinical trials (GCP)
- Good knowledge of, and preferably proven experience in, designing and conducting in vitro and ex vivo cell assays
- Fluent in English
- Flexible, result-driven, team player
